For those of you who do not know me personally, here is a little bit about me. I am a passionate technology market strategist and business development architect with deep expertise in the SaaS markets honed from working in increasingly senior positions around the world (Canada, U.S, Dubai) in start-ups, mid-size companies (Corel) and large multi-nationals (IDC, IBM, Microsoft).
I naturally gravitate towards work that is transformational in nature and do my best work on projects with great ambiguity but with high strategic importance.
My core specialities include:: Market Strategy & Market Intelligence; Competitive Strategy & Competitive Intelligence; Business Development and Partner Ecosystem Development. Large Account Sales & Channel Partner, Strategic Alliance Management.
I had the opportunity for working in a variety of roles in the technology sector:
- Evoxis: Market Research Analyst:
- EcommIT: Business Development Manager
- Corel: Channel Account Manager
- IDC: Industry Analyst/Research Manager
- IBM: Market Strategist
- Microsoft: Product Marketing Manager, Director of Marketing & Operations
- Intelex: SVP of Marketing
- Kira Systems: SVP of Marketing
In the last 20 years I have witnessed some major shifts in Go-to-Market strategy in the software industry from Sales-led approaches to Product-Led approaches to what I am anticipating to being Market–Led approaches. At this juncture I am looking to take a sabbatical from full-time executive opportunities and focus the next year on researching and writing my book on the evolution of SaaS Go-to-Market Strategies over the last few decades, and how they will evolve in the next era of the marketplace economy. I will be coaching with some of the leading technology incubators in Canada such as Communitech and the University of Toronto Hatchery to help design and build the next generation of startups with these strategies in mind, and will be taking on 1-2 Fractional CMO opportunities with promising start-ups and scaleups that are looking to build or reinvent their Go-to-Market in line with the future evolution of the SaaS market.
